Typography (part 2)

So a few posts ago I tried to take an article and lay it out. I took another swing at it:

I'm trying to figure out the grid, but I'm having a bit of trouble. I've been reading a few books (thanks to some recommendations!). Unfortunately I haven't gotten to A Type Primer yet, which is the book I wanted to pick up the most. After checking out the MCAD Library I found it's on the reserve shelf! Blast! I might buy it on Amazon though.

John Kane's "A type primer" is pretty definitive. It covers basics (you'd probably just use it for reference) as well as more advanced layout rules and suggestions. The section I go back to the most is bit on grids. :) Love grids.

This book is amazing also, but also amazingly expensive.

I like the way you were going with the first one better. I think it has more going for it. I love talking type whenever also if you need a type buddy.
